Why do i love chickpoints??!!!

It's always an excuse why i'am late!

Chance to meet plenty of new people...

Chance to meet israeli civilians,,,,most of them in my age are soldiers serving in the melitary service,,,,

Chance to feel important when more than 3 machines are chiking my body cells, burce, books.

A good reminder that my land is still under occupation.

A good reminder of my brothers and sisters who are caged in the Israeli jails,,,

A reminder that all the humans passing through the chickpoint daily mean nothing ,,,absolutly nothing to the israeli people or goverment...

A way to feel that you are living in an abnormal situation in a world that calls itself CIVILIZED !!

A good introduction for the new big JAIL surrounding me and my people; the WALL that's few meters away from my house

so seriously how can anybody hate it.....it's wonderfull!!!

Eman - I salute you that you're even capable to see it that way even though I know of course, deep pain, hate and bitterness are screaming out from between the lines and nobody can possibly blame you for that!!
Every checkpoint is an utter disgrace, deep humiliation and disregard of ANY rights - I admire you guys how you cope ...

Abed, dear friend - how's it going with your exams? I am still crossing fingers and toes (even though slowly it gets a bit complicated .. ha-ha!) for you!
Come on .. SURE you can post the grades of this semster .. if you won't get straight "A"s ... it's probalby "A" minus or "B" plus! You're a TOP student - you can be proud of that!! (I am !!!)

Sharifo - you do have my full respect for being .. well, YOU!! I can only too well imagine how miserably difficult life in Gaza is under this horrid occupation and especially under the constant attacks and other horrors! You guys are not only HUMANS - but WONDERFUL HUMANS ... I'd blast anyone who would say anything less than that! It is so sad that with the horrors in Lebanon, the horrors around you were not in the headlines anymore! I just want you to rest assured you're NOT AT ALL forgotten!! Are you maybe in any contact with Dr. Mona el-Farra?
Again ... you're GREAT FOLKS!!!
LOVE YOU ALL!

Eman, it seems like you wanted to stop writing to world about Palestine. I just want to let you know that i came accross your blog because i was searching for voice from Palestine. You should never quit writing because world must know about your pain and unbelivable struggle, and you also need to let all your pain out -and have somebody listen :)

I live in southern California, and you know we have protests for Palestine and Lebanon every week now, and there are many Americans who have nobody in Palestine, but still consistently come to protests. We are writing letters all the time to senators and congressmen, in hope that we can enlighten them about the truth. Americans are extremly uninformed. The news here hide from public what really is happening to you people, and they never, never mention word OCCUPATION. Do you know that most Americans have no clue that Israel illegaly occupies West Bank and Gaza? But, if you stop writing, who will tell people about your pain, CNN?...No!

If you want to see some photos from California protests here they are:

We keep you in our hearts and think of your people all the time!!!

hi back...
i know it's not my blog..but i really wanted to say thanks for sanja ( is that and indian name ? )
and agree 100% its not a very effective role we are playing for the cause but at least we are doing something..and i think that the internet society in general its hard to control as the Television and writtin meda..and that's a good point for us...to express ourselves with a " not bad " amount of freedom..so we have to stay doing that little thing and try to reach more people..and here is a good way to help us..by informing people about the cause or try to make them visit these blogs..wich can deliver a the right idea..
so, thanks for the efforts
Salam

Exactly Sharifo!! TV and newspapers are largly controled, especially in USA, where almost all news, before they show up on TV or newspaper, go through AIPAC filter to make sure that Israel is not criticized, and that people are kept blind about occupation. However, you Palestinians who are blessed to have computer and internet can speak about your daily experiences and major events that never show up on news. Your voice is louder, your voice is truth, and it will always be stronger (in long run, at least :) ).

Where on the world will one learn about the brutality of Zionists if there are no blogs like yours??? If you guys stop writing, then Zionists would be winning as they are already controlling media.

And Allah is with opressed!!!

P.S. I'm from former Yugoslavia, and "sanja" is common name there :)

Abed: good luck,,
Karin: thanks my friend,,,to be honest we don't just cope sometimes we feel like less than humans, sometimes we just get use to it and sometimes we feel like we are stronger than this,,but the chickpoint is just a way to make us lower our demands so insted of asking to return our land we simply ask to live with no chickpoints,,we are aware of that.

co'simo: thank you my brother :)))

Zingterial: inshallah,,,thank you :)

Sanja: :) thanks for your support, yes we shouldn't stop,,i know that many palestinians including me are questioning the role of the world community and questioning the role of the UN and the EU and of course USA,, and that's why many ppl ask me what's the point?why do you you write?what's the point?even if they new what can they change? and maybe that was my feeling when the mascara in Qana repeated itself,,,still my answer is getting stronger each time i meet one of you ppl who truly believe and suppot the Palestinian cause,,but will that cause a real change? can we ppl make this change? do you think its enough to express our feelings..or shall we do more? ,,,always asking myself this question.

Eman - I understand very well what you are saying! I think these checkpoints are meant as well to make people feel humiliated, less human that others - on top - what I heard about soldiers' behavior there is mostly terrible as well, right?
Please, Eman - do NEVER give in to that!! You, ALL of your people as AS MUCH HUMANS as the rest on this planet and the ones who are NOT - and the criminals who do that to you!
You have a legitimate demand ... do NOT reduce it! This land is YOURS - there are laws, resolutions ect. which clearly state that - they have NO right to ignore them. I am well aware of the double standard, esopecially on the American side nowadays but it will and MUST change! I do believe in justice .. it WILL prevail! You will always have my full support!! :)

Eman, i think that your presence in Palestine is the best form of activism!!! They want you to fear them, because fear is one of the best way to control people, but instead, you don't fear them, alhamdulillah! They want you to leave Palestine, but instead you resist.

I am optimistic about people. People have stopped Vietnam war in US. If most people know about Palestine, i am positive that there would be change. Besides, you don't lose anything by writing what's going on in your country. You never know what effect it will have; we should never belittle our deeds :)
Also, people should always stand up for justice, in any form they can, so tell your friends not to question your writing, because that is better than not writing at all :)

Imagine a world where there is opression and nobody is pointing at it, and everybody is blind. Now, that will not cause any change!

Peace be with you, and we are proud of Palestinians.

It must be very humiliating for everybody that passes through these checkpoints, and especially for those young men in picture who would probably want to defend their country, but don't have ways to do it.

Do the Israeli soldiers at checkpoints say anything to you while you are passing? What do they do?
May Allah protect you and your people :)

7:36 AM
Blogger eman said...

Sanja: thanks for caring,,,,yes they do say and do many things and lots of these things are more humiliating than the chickpoint itself,,,many times the whole chicking thing depends on there mode if they feel good then they let you pass without even looking at you ID but if they were tired and board then its a another story they might try to act nicly and talk to you like if you'r a friend and ask how are ? where are you from? and of course i don't answer them coz its only their way to have fun of us,,and this is the nice way the hard way is that when they say go back you can't pass, or when they chick each piece of your cloths and in many times they make men get nacked at chickpoints in a very inhuman seen.
of course they don't take any speacial cases in consideration for them it doesnt matter if you are old handicaped or 24 hours old baby and of course if you are a woman about to give birth all of them have to waite in the long lines to pass and as a result many Palestinian children were born at chickpoints and many elder were forced to live in wost situations and many times prevented from getting their medication if that means leaving their houses, and many social rolationships had o be end as a result of not being able to see your friends and family anymore and of course thats without mentioning the love which should be limited in between chickpoints, hehe imagine limiting your chancecs of meeting people per metres !!!!!
